During the 1960’s, a lot of excellent factories existed around the US west coast, mainly focusing on Seattle, the birthplace of the backpacking culture, to Berkeley.

In 2006, elaborate manufacturing of the 1960’s when quality was valued over time and labor, were re-established at a garment factory in California.

It was then, that mountain parka jackets were revived using SIXTY FORTY cotton/nylon fabric, a fabric produced in North America. This was the birth of “MT. RAINIER DESIGN WORKS”.
